Danny’s recap of our last day. Pray for our safe travel tomorrow:)
Fun day with the kids. Boats on the lake and the zoo. We had to say goodbye and everyone is feeling different things.
Today was our last day at the children’s home. We went back to the hotel we stayed at the first night we were here. Tomorrow we take the kids to the zoo. Leaving the Diaz home and all the projects and saying goodbye definitely had a mixture of emotions. Everyone’s tired but energized in spirit. Thanks for checking up!
Thank you for checking in. It’s been a crazy day and it took forever to upload the last video. Thanks for your patience:)
Yes that is a caterpillar! Also, in case you are on FACEBOOK you can follow our updates at: http://facebook.com/jamulchurch or at: http://jamul.org. Enjoy!
Everybody’s doing great. Tired but great! Enjoy:)
(FYI: We didn’t have internet last night and were unable to upload this last night, Tuesday night.) – Sam (Wednesday Morning)
Watching students work hard and play hard is also an amazing sight. Today we boarded up the bus and headed to Hogar Rancho Hebron (the Diaz’s ministry). The bus was crowded and everyone was excited to get there. As soon as we got there even while we were unloading the bus students were already playing with the kids. Our original plan was to spend the rest of today just playing with the kids and getting familiar with our surroundings. But, as things go we ended up doing much, much more. After lunch we started on some of the projects, and played games and did crafts with the kids.
Some of the projects we are working on here are putting in a new drainage pipe to help collect and redirect water runoff from the rain, pour concrete inside one of the kids bathrooms to raise the floor level so it is above the outside ground level. We are also going to pour concrete outside that restroom to help keep the mud down. A few months ago part of their home was broke into so we installed better locks on some of the door and also installed new lights in one of the rooms. Not a bad day when you think of what we were planning on doing! Good thing God is the one who really plans things!
Tomorrow will be a little crazy and way awesome! We will have four different teams working on things. One group will be working on projects at the main home. Another team will be working on a new property the Diaz family where we hope to build a classroom. Our third team will be working with the kids. Our final team will be going into Managua to work with kids at a school and be sharing the gospel in the surrounding neighborhood. Lot of ministry to do!
Everyone is doing great. Not to tired yet, and no one is feeling sick. Thank you for praying for us and following our updates.

The day that we have been waiting for has finally come! We are in Nicaragua. We left the student center Sunday night at 8:00pm and headed for the airport. Our flights went smooth and at 11:30 am Monday morning we arrived in Nicaragua. We headed for lunch and then on to the hotel to get refreshed from the long night and day of travel. The hotel is really nice! We got moved into our rooms and some people slept, while others swam in the pool and played games. We ate dinner at the hotel (which was awesome!) and then had a meeting with everyone. For most of our meeting time there had been lightning and thunder and then as we worshiped it started to rain. Not just little rain, but BIG rain! It was great. Everyone is in their rooms now trying to get rest for the week ahead of us. Tomorrow we head to the Diaz’s home and get ready for the work projects and day camps with the kids.
Be sure to check out the pictures from today and the video below.
Summer is finally here! Everyone is now officially out of school. Check out our Summer calendars and join us when you can.

For those going to Nicaragua this summer, here is a video of a song in Spanish that we will be singing. Take some time and watch the video and get familiar with it. Be praying for our time in Nicaragua, it is going to be amazing!
